Andrena nitida is a mining and solitary bee, a little larger than a honeybee, it is early (appears in March / April) and is particularly fond of pollen of buttercups and dandelions. Here a female (the male is much more svelte) on a leaf of sorrel in a wet meadow. Limousin, France.
